What's Up Wednesday: June 2016

What we're eating this week:
I'm keeping things light and easy this week because it is way too hot to do much cooking. We did a specialty pizza from Trader Joe's with a tomato/mozzarella salad on Monday. Tuesday/Wednesday we did chicken chef salads. Thursday we are doing Panko breaded tilapia fillets with green hatch chili mac n' cheese (from Trader Joe's) with some baked zucchini. Friday I'm on a liquid/soft foods diet since I'm having my wisdom teeth removed....sad day:(

What I'm reminiscing about:
Our Mexican vacation from last summer. It's nearing our 6th wedding anniversary. This is the time of year we usually take a big vacation. However, this year we opted for two smaller vacations with family instead. But I sure wouldn't mind hanging out in Mexico again.....

What I'm loving:
My summer vacation. I haven't been sleeping in since I'm still choosing to do my 5 AM workouts to avoid the heat. However, I do manage to squeeze in a 2 hour nap after breakfast. I'm able to relax, read, blog, and hang out with friends.

What we've been up to:
We just got back from out trip to Austin to visit Mr. B's family. We hit up Schilliterbaun while we were there. I got the most wicked sunburn on my legs. I'm still suffering. I'm in the itchy peeling stage. I've got alligator skin. Aloe lotion is my best friend right now.

What I'm dreading:
Getting my wisdom teeth out Friday. I've been putting it off for a couple of years now. I have to have 2 pulled and 2 surgically removed. My dentist said I shouldn't be in much pain. I feared my root canal 2 years ago, and that didn't turn out bad at all. So hopefully he is right about his procedure, too. Let's be honest though.....what I'm really concerned about is the fact that I won't be able to eat because #foodislife

What I'm working on:
I've been working on completing my paperwork and getting things ready and official for my new job. I've got to submit my transcripts and letter of service along with my signed contract. I have orientation on July 12th. I'll get my badge and my technology there. I finally have access to my email and the curriculum website. I've been busy researching the expectations and the scope and sequence for my new grade level. I've also been registering for classes that I need to complete. So yes, I'm still doing some work this summer. #teacherlife

What I'm excited about:
I'm excited for my 100th check-in with CG next Thursday (if all goes according to plan)! I can't believe that I'm already at 100. Where has the time gone? Didn't I just start yesterday? I can't believe all I've accomplished since January. I'm running a mile in 11:56 (this is great for me, a non-runner), using 15-20 pound weights, and doing almost everything non-modified. Who is this workout beast? I like her.

What I'm watching/reading:
Game of Thrones concluded on Sunday, so I'm sad. The Bachelorette is still on, but it's boring me this season. I think I'll go back and re-watch the first season of Game of Thrones. I'm also mildly obsessed with the Tudor Dynasty, so I may or may not be binge watching The Tudors for the third time.....
I'm about to start reading "The Kitchen House" like in minutes, as in when I finish this post. I refuse to let this book sit on my table another three weeks without being read. I'm also reading The Lunar Chronicles. I'm on book 2 in the series. I'm also continuing in my "A Shade of Vampire" series. There's like a million books in it, so it's hard to keep up.

What I'm listening to:
Much of the same things....Spotify and Podcasts

What I'm wearing:
Comfy clothes. It's hot. Although, I can no longer stay in my workout clothes all day. I just get too sweaty in the mornings. I have to take them off immediately and shower before I even eat breakfast.

What I'm doing this weekend:
We have a 4th of July party to go to on Sunday evening, but I don't know how much enjoyment I'll get out of it since I'll probably be in mild pain due to my oral surgery. It saddens me because I love party food. Because again....#foodislife

What I'm looking forward to next month:
Our Del Rio vacation with my family. It's been two years since we've been. This time it's just going to be my parents, Jude the Dude, Mr. B and I, and of course my aunt and uncle. It'll be nice to have some adult relaxation time and get to play with the nephew for a few days, too. At the end of the week, we'll be going to stay with my parents because we are celebrating my grandpa's 85th birthday that next weekend. I'm excited to see family that I haven't seen in a while.

What else is new:
The newest thing is my new job. I start working for Northwest ISD as a third grade teacher this fall. I'm super excited for this new opportunity. I'm also excited for all my friends who are starting new adventures in their careers this coming school year, too. Also, Mr. B is getting some career advancement, too! We are being truly blessed this month:)

What is my favorite 4th of July tradition:
I can remember when we were kids when we always had a huge BBQ with friends down the street. When it got dark, we would go out by the storage sheds and pop all kinds of fire works. Those were good times. Nowadays, you pretty much have to search for a firework show being put on somewhere if you want to see fireworks. Such is the city life I suppose.

Austin Vacation 2016

We just came back from our first vacation this year. We decided to stay in the country this year and take 2 cheap, in-state vacations. We were gone from Wednesday afternoon to Sunday evening. It was BOLD week for CG, so I didn't feel so bad missing my workouts. I really enjoyed getting to sleep past 4:15 every morning.

Enjoying my coffee while thinking about my #threadlife girls at (not 4:30 in the morning)!

I knew I should probably get in at least one workout this week since I'm closing in on 100! I knew my NBCOC peeps would probably be doing a PM workout, so I asked just to make sure. I figured if I told them I was coming, then I wouldn't be able to back out at the last minute. It was a good workout and not too terribly hot. Thankful for the shade, little running, and lots of weights!

The NBCOC CG crew.....sweaty and swole!

We left for Austin on Wednesday afternoon. I had a bag and a cooler full of snacks (that I may or may not have gotten into about 3 times in the short drive) in the back seat of the car. I made Mr. B drive so I could read. We arrived around 6:30 that evening, and I got right to the main business of the trip...
Nephew snuggles!!!!!

Baby Owen has gotten so big since I last saw him in March. He was super snuggly and so much fun to interact with!

And my love! This sweet boy is my first nephew and I just LOVE him! He played the "pick on" game with me a lot over these past few days. I think I taught him well. He also may have gotten me addicted to a cooking game on my phone......

So Thursday we wake up and head to Schilliterbaun. I'm excited to go back since the last time we were there I couldn't really participate in much since I had babies on board. That was so not the case this time. When we arrived, we got out locker and decided to try out this rapid ride. It is here that I realized that I'm no longer a thrill ride person anymore. I discovered that about myself at Six Flags a couple of years ago. Apparently, it holds true for water rides, too. I flipped out of my tube (which is my fear on water rides). I have this fear because it takes an act of congress to get me back in the tube. It's even worse when I'm standing in 3 feet of water with a current and other people crashing in to me. Mr. B AND the life guard stationed in the whirl pool had to assist me. I was so thankful when it was over. We decided to be done with that. We went and grabbed our snacks and ate. We reapplied our sunscreen before taking the tram to the other side of the water park. We instantly found the ride for us. It was called "The Falls." It is an endless, long float with periods of rapid and falls. It was leisure enough with some minor thrills along the way to make it fun. Bonus: I didn't flip out of my tube once! So for about 3-4 hours straight, we were sitting in inner tubes just floating. That's all well and good IF you remember to put sunscreen on your legs.....which I did not. I never do because they're always in water. Well my legs are white girl white, sun bouncing off and blinding you white, and totally unprotected.

So this is what the after math of unprotected white girl legs in 4 hours of straight sun looks like....
It would take a slur of expletives to adequately describe the pain I was in for the next 3 days or so. Thank goodness for Aloe with Lanacaine.

That didn't keep me from enjoying some snuggles with Owen.

I LOVE  this picture!!!

This is the best I could do with a selfie with us and the nephews. Owen wasn't having it.

Friday was a chill day. We were going to float the river. However, we pretty much did that at Schilliterbaun the day before. There was also no way I was going to expose my purple/red legs to the sun again. Nope. No thank you! We hit up Main Event and watch Becks play arcade games before heading to Torchy's for lunch. Oh, how I love me some Torchy's! We met up with a bunch of people at another restaurant for dinner a little later. Mr. B and I enjoyed some really yummy Mac n' Cheese with grilled chicken and bacon.

Saturday we were supposed to go kayaking on the lake with Christy and DeVon. Again, I wasn't feeling the sun exposure. I didn't feel too guilty about messing up the plans since the weather didn't really cooperate either. It was a cool, rainy day in Austin. We walked around the Hill Country Galleria. I didn't buy anything.....shocker! We were able to grab some nice pics.
DeVon was super bummed he didn't have his selfie stick.

Me and my handsome!

We went to The Oasis for lunch. DeVon was simply OBSESSED with the view. The food was good, too. I enjoyed a tasty BLT and fries. Clearly I abandoned any thoughts about nutrition while on vacation. I'm paying for it this week though.

Our view at lunch overlooking Lake Travis while the rain rolls in. I love the view of rain coming in over a body of water. So pretty.
My handsome lunch date!

We left Christy and DeVon to fend for themselves as we went back to the house. Apparently, they found ways to entertain themselves via a helicopter ride over the lake. They're officially cooler than us. All we did was come home and take a nap. We went out for pizza with a bunch of people Saturday night. I was still kind of full from lunch, but I wasn't going to pass up pizza since I'd been wanting it for a while. We ordered a small pepperoni and a small Hawaiian pizza to share, I had 3 small slices and well......
This oinker chowed down the rest. How does he do it!? It's one of life's mysteries.

I took the opportunity that night to put little man to sleep. I wanted some last minute snuggles before we headed home the next day.

We ended our trip by going to lunch with the family one last time to one of our favorite eating places in Austin: Phil's Ice House and Amy's Ice Cream. We have to hit these two places up every time we come to Austin. I love the burgers at Phil's! Amy's has unique ice cream flavors that you just can't find anywhere else. I also loved how every place we ate at while in town was unique to Austin.

When we got back home, we did our grocery shopping and picked up our dogs. Then it was unpacking and off to bed we went. We had to get some sleep because a new camp started Monday, and 4:15 comes early!

Weekly Recap and TT Results

Well, Total Transformation came to an end. I cried when I got my final results. I lost 3.5 pounds, but it was muscle mass and not fat. In fact, I gained a 1/2 pound of fat. Apparently, I didn't eat enough calories on some days. So, I tweaked my macros and my calorie count after my test results. I'm not worrying this week about it since I'm on vacation, but when I get back and start a new camp it's time to get intentional. This will just take some patience on my part and tweaking to get the right formula down for me. The important thing for me to remember is that the numbers don't matter as much as you think they do. They're just numbers. What matters is how you feel on a day to day basis. I feel great. I feel strong. I feel more confident.

Of course I'm going to include a pic with my squad....or at least some of them. We were missing our 2 other CG teammates this week.

#fitcouplefolife
So thankful that Mr. B works out with me daily and we have each other as a support system!

Here is one of my recipes that I ate this week. I ate this 3 days in a row. I like repetition. It keeps me on track. These are my healthy nachos. I'll post the recipe in my "What's Cookin?" page. They're delicious and filling. They can also be mixed and matched in several different ways to accommodate different tastes.

So as of today, I'm sitting at 91 check-ins with CG. When you hit your 100th check-in, it's a big deal. I've decided that when I hit mine, I am treating myself to new tennis shoes and this necklace.

Last week I went up to school to plan out some things with my team. While I was there, I decided to take some shots of my new room so I could see what I had to work with. Here are some shots of my new digs this fall.
I like how the projector is on the ceiling and not on a big ugly cart taking up space. I'm also a fan of that storage cabinet! I've got 2 white boards each bordered by a bulletin board. This is the view when you walk in the door.

This is the door to the hallway. I like the extra bulletin board. To the left are some lockers.

Here is the rest of the view of the lockers. There won't be enough for everyone, so they will be 2 to a locker with the rest for storage space. I also like the wall space above the lockers. A great place for anchor charts.

I'm thrilled that I have a window. I've spent the last 7 years in classrooms with no window. That closet you see houses the heating unit...I think. In any regard, it's not additional storage space. That other cabinet to the left is a great storage space.

This is the back of the classroom. I love the tiled area and that there is a sink. I also like the double books shelves. The over head cabinets are also great to put things out of reach. The far left cabinets are pull out cabinets that will be great for storing paper and other supplies for the students to access.

I can't wait to start decorating this space and making it my own! I'm ready to welcome my sweet third graders in August!

I'm so proud of myself! I've finished two books so far this summer! I got both these books of Anne Bogel's Summer Reading List. Once I got started with both these books, they were hard to put down. I admit, it took me a little to get into them originally. I don't really know if that was due to the books, or due to my desire to sit and read when I could be sleeping or watching TV. Anyway, I'll have my thoughts about these books up on my "Bookworms Only" page.

This week we head to Austin/ New Braunsfel for our first of 2 vacations this summer. I plan on picking up another series that I've been reading over the past couple of years. These are on my Kindle (I just bought a Kindle Paperwhite!) and will be easier for me to transport. This series is hard to keep up with because if you take a small break from it, the next time you pick it up again there are 10 new books added to it. I'm just thankful that they're quick reads once you get started. I believe I've mentioned this series on my Bookworm page. I've got another paperback book that I could start reading if I wanted to.......

Getting Summer Ready

I survived another week of school and the first week of my 4th camp with Camp Gladiator. I have 5 more weeks of school to go before summer break. I couldn't be more ready. I love my class, but I'm ready for some summer fun. I'm already making plans to fill my time. It includes a couple of trips to Lubbock, a family reunion, my grandpa's birthday party, a trip to Austin and to float the river, a trip to the lake in Del Rio, Jude the Dude coming to visit, training for CG games, lots of reading, spending times with friends, and just for fun....getting my wisdom teeth pulled!

This week didn't produce anything too exciting. I had a short week since I took a "mental health day" on Friday because #whynot.....

I work late on Mondays (only for 2 more weeks) since I'm coaching Oral Reading for UIL. I'm working with a couple of 6th grade boys. I like that I'm getting the chance to work with older kids for a little bit. They can be fun....in small doses. Our UIL meet is next Saturday, so we've got one more week to fine tune their readings.

Wednesday I had a super long faculty meeting. This is the meaty end of year meeting where we discuss summer school and retention policies and what's going on over the summer and the following school year. It was officially announced that I'd be moving to second grade if I stayed at my current school. So either way, I get a change next year. My ultimate goal is to get closer to home. Just in case it still isn't my year to achieve that goal, I have something new to look forward to next year. You know that I'm hustling to find a job....
I didn't leave campus until 5:45 and knew I'd need to take the expensive tollway to get home in time for dinner and church at 7:00. So I paid the ridiculous price and made it home around 6:20ish. Then I find out that I don't have dinner ready, so I hightail it to Chick-Fil-A and grab a salad and down it in my car in the church parking lot. Being late makes me so frustrated and grumpy. Poor Mr. B had to endure that.

Friday I thought I'd have a lazy day, but that never turns out to be the case. My sister and her friends came in late Thursday night and crashed at our house so they could get their day in DFW started earlier. They left at 8:45 Friday morning before my TPT came over to dance with me and Shaun T to some Beyonce. We had so much fun getting our sweat on. She enjoyed the workout and wants to do it again when we want to focus on cardio since it's fun. Right after that intense dance workout, she took me outside and killed my legs. Be gone cellulite! She killed my biceps during camp Thursday morning then finished off the rest of my upper body at our private session Thursday evening. Gotta work for those guns. There's definitely some muscle coming in on my upper body.

I ended up running errands Friday and having lunch with Mr. B at work. When he got home, we went to Menchies (we are obsessed with this place) and grabbed some froyo. We got home and both realized we wanted a nap. We slept until almost 6:00 then cooked burgers for dinner. I ended up getting to finish my book while he watched TV.

Saturday I woke up and got ready for my track session with TPT. I walked a 1 1/2 miles at the track until she showed up and we got started on the workout. Saturdays are going to be our track days. I'm trying to become a runner and get myself ready for CG games in August. My goal is to be able to run a mile without stopping....something I've never been able to do. She had me doing sprints, ab work, and laps around the track. What I do know is that I'm a fast short distance sprinter. Something else I know is that I'm getting stronger with my core. My planks are getting longer and my form is better. After my workout, I decided I needed a treat. So, I went to Starbucks to get my usual.

I'm such a dork, but #thatsandwichtho

Since I really didn't have anything pressing to do, I decided to piddle around Target for a bit. I wanted to try a new brand of jeans Tiff had told me about and see if I could get in a smaller size. While I roamed Target, I chatted with my mom. I tried on the jeans and was disappointed. I should've known not to go against the brand I normally wear. I refuse to buy new jeans until they are a size smaller. I will just have to go to my usual place and see if I can fit into a smaller size of jeans in the brand I normally wear. While at Target, I stopped in the handbag section to browse. I found a purse I liked on clearance, but I couldn't find a wallet I liked. I told my mom I would just leave empty handed. She then tells me to go to Khols because they're having a sale. She really should be discouraging me from shopping, but I suppose I must obey her since she's my mom. #selectiveobedience
This is what I walked away with:
Only $34 for the set since they were on sale and I had 30% off

The next thing I'll treat myself to are new jeans (only if I can fit into a smaller size) and new tennis shoes when I reach 100 check-ins with CG. I'm at 55 right now. Over half way.....

I ended Saturday with burgers and relaxation.

Sunday was a busy day for me, too. After morning service, I met up with my girls for our monthly lunch date. I always have so much fun with these ladies. And we take a great picture. Age has done us well....Our 30's will be rockin'

I had 4th Sunday singing practice before evening service. Then we went to a party after church to get to know our potential new preacher and his wife.

I finally got my measurements!!! I was pleased with my 5 week progress.
Chest: down 1/2 in.
Hips: down 1 in.
Waist: down 1 1/2 in.
R/L bicep: evened out on both sides w/ 1 in. muscle gain on my left
R/L calf: down 1/2 in. on each
L thigh: stayed the same
R thigh: evened out with L thigh and went down 1 1/2 in.
That's a total of 5 inches lost in 5 weeks. That goes with my 6 pound fat loss, too! I'll take that all day!

Total Transformation Week 4 and Recap Week 3

Week 3 of another successful camp has come and gone. Oh, HIIT week, how I love you! This is probably my favorite week of camp. Friday's workout was so much fun. We did some station work in groups and had to take selfies at each station. Here are a few of my favs.....

I love me some fire hose work!

Resistance band training to get those gains!

Silly selfie with my girl, Megan!

Swinging sledge hammers and hitting things is always fun!

Since I finally decided to play BINGO this camp to earn my free shirt, I needed to post my CG story. I made this little collage of me, including my mission poster I made last week at my Leader in Me training. I've come a long way and still have a long way to go. I'm getting stronger every day, and I love the way I feel.
Here's what I posted about my journey:
I've been doing CG since January when my friend Pamela Bailey Gray hooked me up with a free camp. I was hooked after those 4 weeks. I started going 3 times a week and quickly bumped it up to 5! I even made the transition from PM camps to early morning camps. I've made some great friends that push me daily and hold me accountable with 4:30 am texts (yay Megan Mittelstedt Sneed!). I've had Robin Grannan in my ear at every workout pushing me to go harder and do things that I didn't think I could do. I'm so much stronger and more confident than I was in the beginning. I remember my first goal was to make it the whole warm up lap without having to walk. Now I'm training for CG games and lifting 15-20 pound weights. I ‪#‎choosechange‬ because I deserve it. I even convinced my husband to come with me. We be a ‪#‎fitcouplefolife‬! This first picture was in July 2015 at our vacation in Mexico WITH Spanx. The next picture is me in May 2016 WITHOUT Spanx. The last picture is me last weekend! I'm a long way from where I want to be, but I'm a long way from where I was.

Since I was going out of town for the weekend, I knew I'd miss my chance at a Saturday workout. I NEEDED a Saturday workout because I knew the gluttony that I would partake in that weekend. Thankfully, TPT had sent me this workout last week and my parents had weights at their house.

They sat on the porch and kept time while watching me sweat it out in their front yard. I was so glad I got a workout in because I was naughty on Friday. I was REALLY naughty on Saturday. And well, I was a little naughty on Sunday. Saturday was an epic downfall. I mean, the food at our family was off the chain! It was one of those things where you had to strategically place the food on your plate to have room for everything. You also had to be OK with stacking things on top of each other....unless you wanted to look greedy and have 2 plate.

This pretty much sums up how I felt after Saturday's food adventures. Side note: I love this Bitmoji app!

With all that being said, I found this picture that accurately describes my relationship with food vs. Mr. B's relationship with food. If he had been there, he would've suffered no consequences. Me, on the other hand, will probably have to be extra strict this week so I don't bomb my body assessment this Friday. I want to show body fat loss. That can be hard after a weekend of gluttony.

However, I'm back at it for week 4! I made my plan and intend to stick to it.
I felt the urge to decorate and be colorful for this final week. I don't really have anything that should impede my journey this week. I'm home for the most part, so I should be able to stay on track.

Since I officially was offered my new job last Friday, I got to attend their 3 day training on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This is probably one of the best workshops I've been to in all my years of education. I learned so much. I got to spend time with my new teammates and get to know them. I even found out some things about my new place of work. I'm looking forward to learning more as the summer goes on.

Tuesday we had the funeral for Mr. B's grandpa. It was a nice service. After the service, we went back to his parents' house for some lunch and family time. That meant I got to spend lots of time playing with one of my favorite nephews (notice how I said "one of" because I adore all 4 of them equally).
This sweetie and I played all afternoon. My favorite part was when he was trying to explain to me why he called me and "aunt" when I wasn't a bug. (you totally had to be there)

That evening I finally had a much needed hair appointment. I decided to chop it off even shorter and lighten it up a bit. I think I'm going to work my way back to blonde. It'll be a long process, but I need a change.
I love my new hair. Then again, I always love when I get my hair done.

I flew into Lubbock Friday morning. I ended up making a friend on the flight over. We were going to reconnect on the flight back since we were on the same one, but weather issues prevented that from happening. Apparently, the weather in Dallas was awful Sunday. My first flight got cancelled. Then I booked the last available flight out of Lubbock at 7:05 that evening. Well, it got delayed till 8:00, 9:55, 11:05, 12:15, then finally cancelled altogether. It was at the 11:05 mark that we decided it would just be easier to drive back. So, my parents brought me to Abilene where Mr. B and his dad were waiting for me to bring me back home. I didn't get in bed until after midnight that night. Yeah, there was no 5 AM workout Monday morning for me. I had to deal with the brutal mid-morning heat at 8:45 instead.

On the bright side, I was reunited with my precious Chunky Dunky when I arrived Friday morning.
I love that sweet face.

Mom had us going all day long once I got off that plane. We headed home so I could drop off my stuff and we could make a plan for the day. We were running errands all day. We stopped for a brief break to take a dip in the pool. Chunky Dunky didn't like it at first. He screamed until he got used to it. It was a bit chilly since the wind was blowing and the water was cold. After the swim, we had to run a few  more errands. By the time we got home and got dinner cooked, it was after 9:00. I enjoyed the grilled pork chops and grilled veggies! Then it was off to bed since we had a long day on Saturday.

Saturday I was up early because I had things to do. I needed to do the cooking for the reunion. I made brownies from a box and my famous loaded mashed potatoes. Dad had the bright idea to throw some corn in. It was a tasty addition. After cooking for the reunion, I helped dad make breakfast. Then it was outside for a sweaty weight workout. We headed to the reunion and had lunch and visited. I played cards and dominoes with my mom and sister. Before we knew it, it was dinner time and it was on! I wasn't the only one who partook in the gluttony.....
Chunky Dunky got after that cherry cheesecake.

Then true to form, we got to drive home in a monsoon. Check out those clouds. This happened to us last year, too. Right as we were cleaning up and getting ready to leave, a big storm hits. When we were arriving back in Lubbock, it wasn't raining. It was just blowing wind at 60 mph. Welcome home, Ashley, welcome home!

Sunday was a relaxing day at my parents' house. Mom and I played games all afternoon since my flight was delayed/cancelled. Then at 6:00 that evening, we made our way east to take me home. And here we are....a new week. I have a few things on my to-do list. One of them is reading. I'd really like to get to do that sometime.

Total Transformation Week 3 and Recap of Week 2

I'm a couple of days late on this post. Week 3 is upon us. I'm typing this on a day when I didn't go workout (gasp)! Turns out, my sore throat and cough resurfaced. Monday, I was on the breathing struggle bus during my workout. My lungs were not operating at full capacity. I decided to rest on Tuesday and get a couple of extra hours of sleep. Since I did 7 workouts last week, I didn't feel quite so guilty.

I thought week 2 went well. I had a couple of times when I was off my food routine, but I made it work. Monday morning Christy and DeVon drove all the way from The Colony in the rain to come workout with us at 5 AM.

They survived!

We missed Allison at our Memorial Day workout. She decided to sleep in and go to a later camp. We may have also taken this picture with our 15 pound weights as slight peer pressure to encourage her to ditch her 10's and go up! #club15

Love working out with these girls in the mornings!

Mr. B and I got the wild hair to do a double on this fine holiday. I'd never done a double CG workout, so I thought I'd give it a try. I mean, it was a weight day after all. How bad could it be?
I'll tell you how bad it could be! HOT! HOT! HOT! Never again will you see me at an evening camp during the summer months. Never again.

I talked Megan into coming out with us, too. She also said never again after needing a glucose tablet to keep her from getting sick. The shaded area where they normally workout was too muddy due to all the rain. It was pure sun and humidity.

All four of us were together for a rainy Wednesday morning workout. Showing those guns! We were also following TPT's advice about touching our belly button to our spine. Who knew thinking skinny also burned calories!?

My thoughts every morning when that alarm goes off. Especially in the summer time when I technically could sleep in. But #goals

This is my alarm situation. Weekdays at 4:15 AM. Sundays at 7:30 AM (that is sleeping in). I even set a Saturday alarm for 7:00 AM so I could get a Saturday CG workout in. Going to do this guys! I'm 17 check-ins away from 100!!! I'll hit it by July camp.

Here's a look at the plan for week 3. Breakfast is pretty on point. However, life happened this week and lunch/dinner is slightly skewed. Monday and Wednesday I have to eat out since I'm in a training. Tuesday we have a funeral with a lunch following. Dinner is whatever I have time to make that evening. It's the first full week of summer vacation, and I don't even know it yet.

I did have a cheat day on Friday night to celebrate my new job. I didn't even log it into My Fitness Pal. I didn't dwell on it. I enjoyed what I wanted and moved on. Saturday we had a party with the gang. I did pretty good there. It was chicken tacos. I stayed within my calorie count (even though we hit up Menchies afterwards....our 3rd time that week). Sunday night we had a graduation party for the graduating seniors at church. I did pretty well there, too. I did have a small piece of cake, but it fit my calorie count for the day.

Overall, I've had a successful first half of this camp. I know I'm going to have some challenges this weekend with my family reunion. I'm going to get a Saturday workout in so I can have those extra 200 calories. I'm going to log it, not dwell on it, and move on.
